How Much Does a Domain Name Cost in India?

A domain name costs ₹679 for the first year for a .in or .co.in domain at Namelume, and the price depends on the extension: a .com costs ₹979 and a .ai costs ₹12,269. The first-year price is the domain registration cost. Prices are in Indian rupees and include GST. Prices are as of October 2026 and can change.

What is the domain price in India for each extension?

These are the first-year and renewal prices for the extensions that Namelume lists with both prices:

• .in: ₹679 for the first year, then ₹1,039 a year.
• .co.in: ₹679 for the first year, then ₹1,039 a year.
• .com: ₹979 for the first year, then ₹1,509 a year.
• .org: ₹1,999 for the first year, then ₹2,199 a year.
• .app: ₹2,179 for the first year, then ₹2,739 a year.
• .xyz: ₹2,249 for the first year, then ₹2,549 a year.
• .co: ₹4,749 for the first year, then ₹5,779 a year.
• .ai: ₹12,269 for the first year, then ₹12,829 a year. A .ai domain is registered for 2 years at a time.

Each of these extensions renews at a higher price than its first year, so the second year costs more than the first.

Why does the price change after the first year?

The first-year price applies to the first registration term only. From the next term, the renewal price applies. Domains do not renew automatically on Namelume: you renew from your account, and the Renew option appears when the expiry date is 90 days away or less.

Can you get a free domain name?

What else adds to the cost of a domain?

The price of the extension is the main cost. These can also change the total in your cart:

• The registration term: for most extensions you choose from 1 to 10 years, and the cart shows the total for the term you choose.
• WHOIS privacy: it is free for the registration term on supported extensions, and you can keep it when you renew for ₹199 on most extensions.
• Hosting: the cart has an optional Add hosting choice, and you can leave No hosting selected.

How do you compare domain prices in India?

Compare these four things, not only the first-year price:

• Whether the price includes GST.
• The renewal price, because it applies from the second term.
• Whether WHOIS privacy is included, and what it costs at renewal.
• The registration terms the extension allows.
